Cutter supports initiatives led by Olympian Clara Hughes

Cutter Marine is continuing a relationship with six-time Olympic medalist, Clara Hughes, which began in 2013 when the company hosted Clara in Hamilton for a series of events recognizing her contribution to sport and humanitarian causes. Cutter has made a donation to a Torngat Mountains youth expedition for teens from northern communities. Four youth from Nunatsiavut and Kangiqsualujjuaq ages 16-25 will be selected to participate. The expedition will be led by Clara and her husband Peter Guzman in August 2014 and will focus on team work, motivation and discovering strengths.

Cutter often relies on the Northern community of Nain for vessel provisioning and refueling. The support for the expedition aligns with the focus on supporting communities where our crew lives and works. Clara made a stop in St. John’s, NL as part of her cross Canada Clara’s Big Ride for Bell Let’s Talk and joined Cutter crew to accept the donation.
