Cutter Marine was contracted by Canadian Projects Limited to support the transportation, loading and project management for the Wolfe Island Wind Farm development. Located at the eastern end of Lake Ontario near Kingston, Ontario, the site now houses 87 2.3 megawatt wind turbines.

Cutter Marine undertook two project components; the loading & transportation of wind turbine pieces and the ferry service to deliver equipment and personnel to the site for construction of the wind farm.

The project demonstrated Cutter’s ability to handle complex logistics, manage multiple vessels on a project site and meet stringent customer deadlines.

The Challenge: Deliver components & equipment with no disruption to local residents or use of the MTO passenger ferry.

Our Solution: Deploy the Jack Up 600 barge as temporary dock for cargo loading, provide 5 tugs & 3 barges for shuttling turbine sections, equipment & personnel between mainland and the island during construction.
